About The Position
The Engineer Coop reports to the Engineering Manager and assists the Quality and Facilities. The Coop, under the supervision of the FFacilities Manager will assist in new product development, performing calculations, evaluating designs, performing tests in the lab, writing reports, analyzing data, and improving the Quality department.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other drafting software
- Ability to perform tests, analyze data, and create lab reports
- Strong understanding of basic mechanical and electrical principals
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Basic/intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
Responsibilities
- Ability to manage and prioritize projects, and meet deadlines
- Assist R&D Team in performing hand calculations
- Assist R&D Team in testing, analyzing data, and writing lab reports
- Assist R&D Team in managing notes and procedures
- Assist in creating and improving new designs/products/procedures/calculations/tests/etc.
- Assist in creating SolidWorks Models, Assemblies, Drawings, and Simulations
- Assist R&D Team in performing FEA
- Assist in organization of engineering files
- Participate in weekly meetings, and give reports on project progress to Engineering Management
- Assist Drafting Team in updating old Drawings and Models
- Assist Drafting Team in fulfilling customer orders
- Detailed note taking of all tasks, progress, discoveries, important information, etc.
