About The Position

Come join our Engineeering team at Omni Austin Hotel Downtown as an Engineer 3. This position will ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained hotel environment by maintaining hotel equipment, rooms, inventory and guest services. This position is Sunday-Thursday from 8am-4:30pm.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Prior maintenance/engineering experience required.
• Basic working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Be the knowledgeable “specialist” in at least 1 area.
• Must posses at least 1 certification that is applicable to building maintenance.
• Must be familiar with all common guest requests and how to resolve them.
• Must understand how to obtain trend information for issues and perform a trend analysis.
• Be able to fully understand, read and write in the English language.
• Must be comfortable with physical requirements of the position, including but not limited to walking, standing, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling for duration of shift.
• Must be comfortable with normal office conditions and extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform CARE, PRP (Guest room preventative maintenance), Public Area maintenance and select Equipment preventative maintenance to the specifications required by Omni in both quantity and quality.
• Receive direction from engineering management on daily assignments or projects and complete within the time and manner specified or in accordance with hotel needs.
• Receive direction for house calls via radio and respond promptly and appropriately.
• Ability to properly prioritize workload in a dynamic environment.
• Understand and be able to receive and update work requests from the work request system (Synergy).
• Complete appropriate documents and logs for work assigned on a daily basis or as a project.
• Assist engineers and mechanics with repairs and learn while helping with those repairs.
• Embrace all learning and training opportunities.
• Willing to learn and understand the Omni fire alarm procedures and how to handle other emergencies.
• Willing and learn and understand Omni Hotel rules and regulations.
• Willing to learn and understand the importance of Lock out Tag out, the dangers of arc flashes and other precautions that need to be taken around equipment.
• Able to understand the importance of cleaning all work areas after completing a job.
• Able to maintain engineering shops in a clean and organized manner.
• Able to maintain engineering parts and supplies inventory.
