About The Position

Collins is looking for a motivated self-starter to join our Denver, Colorado team as an entry level Engineer- working in bridge and ancillary structural inspection. This position offers individuals interested in the preservation of critical infrastructure the space to thrive. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university plus appropriate continuing education.
  • 0-4 years of experience.
  • Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

  • Performs inspection/fieldwork of bridges and transportation structures that does not require previous experience.
  • Reviews and interprets plans and design drawings.
  • Documents findings and assists in the completion of inspection and assessment reports.
  • Supports the development of recommendations for maintenance or repairs.
  • Prepares design computations and quantity estimates.
  • Collaborates with senior engineers/technicians on inspections.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare project deliverables.
  • Engages in limited travel for on-site inspections as required.
  • Is active in technical societies.
  • Is able to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
  • Communicates effectively with engineering teams and project stakeholders.
  • Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
  • Participates in training programs to enhance inspection skills.
