Job Summary Job Description DUTIES: Provide technical leadership in performing database administration; administer and maintain Teradata Enterprise Warehouse; implement cloud technologies, including Snowflake and AWS Redshift; install and configure Presto QueryGrid to support connectivity between Teradata and Hadoop platform; manage and implement Security Policy, Consumer Privacy Protection (CPP), and Sarbanes-OxleyAct (SOX) compliance on National Data Warehouse (NDW) Teradata system; use big data application support technologies including HIVE, HDFS, and MinIO; write automation and alerting scripts using Python and Shell Scripts; support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of experience performing database administration; of which five (5) years include administering and managing Teradata Enterprise Warehouse; installing and configuring Presto QueryGrid to support connectivity between Teradata and Hadoop platform; of which three (3) years include implementing Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance on Teradata; using big data application support technologies including HIVE, HDFS, and MinIO; writing automation and alerting scripts using Python and Shell Scripts; of which one (1) year includes implementing cloud technologies, including AWS Redshift.
  • The employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience performing database administration; administering and managing Teradata Enterprise Warehouse; installing and configuring Presto QueryGrid to support connectivity between Teradata and Hadoop platform; of which three (3) years of experience include implementing Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance on Teradata; using big data application support technologies including HIVE, HDFS, and MinIO; and writing automation and alerting scripts using Python and Shell Scripts; of which one (1) year includes implementing cloud technologies, including AWS Redshift
