About The Position

Risk & Reliability Engineer will perform analyses to support services and new product initiatives related to Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (planned and unplanned maintenance) for GEV Gas Power programs. This position will have the opportunity to work with various stakeholders across the Gas Power business including Systems Engineering, Gas Turbine Engineering, Fleet Management, and Product Line Management. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 1 years engineering experience in turbomachinery, design, analytics, or power plant domain.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Gas Power Edison Engineer; Completion of LPX, Teardown Training; Progress toward completion of Engineering Masters degree and/or ACE Certificate
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling techniques, including regression analysis, time series forecasting, and predictive analytics, to derive actionable insights from complex datasets
  • GEV Analytics Program Certification (GEV Employees only)
  • Reliability Practitioner Program Certified (RPP) (GEV Employees only)
  • Self-starter able to develop, document, and execute assignments with limited supervision.
  • Engineering design experience in gas turbine flange-to-flange equipment including turbine, combustion, compressor, or rotor.
  • Experience working in Power Plant design or operations and maintenance role with strong working knowledge of Balance Of Plant equipment
  • Experience working with a globally based, cross functional engineering organization.
  • Ability to rapidly change directions on multiple concurrent projects based on emerging business priorities.
  • Demonstrated technical skills, including familiarity with RAMDeck/MINI Computer programming skills in VB, JSL, Python, R, or other modern language.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Responsibilities

  • Develop empirical risk models using Weibull analysis and other statistical tools.
  • Execute Design For Reliability on NPI programs to position GE MYA products in competitive reliability and availability guarantee position.
  • Support RAM Deck development for GT systems.
  • Support ITO sales with reliability analysis of power plant equipment.
  • Support Part Life Extension, Strategic Departure Program, and GT life entitlement efforts.
  • Support MYA Catalog inputs for margin review with gas capital fallout forecasts.
  • Support parts forecasting for inventory optimization.
  • Combine component-level (i.e. Weibull) failure mode models using a range of simulation methods to create unit level and fleet level predictions of risk for a variety of operating scenarios.
  • Perform FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) and risk profiling in collaboration with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) teams, and Technical Information Letter (TIL) creation.
