Entry Level position enrolled in a Mine Engineer Training Program to span approximately 6 months and 3 main departments in preparation for immediate transition into a Junior Level Mine Engineer position. The purpose of this initial entry level training program is to develop a fundamental and basic understanding of underground, narrow-vein, hard-rock mining; especially as it pertains to the Stillwater Mine. Structured for exposure to the wide array of departments, processes, and individuals involved in making the Stillwater Mine a world class operation. Training Objectives Include : Learn the mine layout and processes. Gain exposure to and develop an understanding of mine departments, their personnel, their interactions/dependencies, and their key functions within the operation Build a network of contacts & resources for future engineering tasks Assist in technical, managerial, and physical tasks; and perform studies on an "as needed" basis Post training, the primary responsibilities of this position are as follows: Ensure a Safe working environment so that 'Everyone goes home safe - Today' in accordance with engineering practices and ethics. Collaborate with tech services, mining, and support groups to develop designs, plans, and schedules utilizing work management systems. Communicate effectively with management, peers, and other departments the designs, plans, and schedules developed as a collaborative team. Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, especially when arising with Engineering/Operations systems. Conduct engineering evaluations of systems and processes to identify and execute improvements in regards to safety, efficiency, and/or economics. Other tasks as designated by the Senior Engineer or their designate.
