This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are seeking a skilled Test & Launch Ops Technician who will leverage technical expertise and operational excellence to ensure the readiness and integration of ground systems, vehicles, and engines for test and launch operations. This role involves the verification and validation of component and system integration, preparation of test and launch environments, and hands-on troubleshooting pre and post-mission. The Test & Launch Ops Technician will collaborate across disciplines to uphold the highest standards of safety, reliability, and mission success for Blue Origin’s spaceflight operations. Position Specific Details Shifts: 8 days on, 6 days off rotations (Day Shift) Location: Van Horn, TX (Launch Site One) Relocation: Available This position is based in Van Horn, TX. Being at the heart of Blue Origin operations, the west Texas Site offers eligible employees additional attractive financial incentives to supplement their competitive base earnings, including a living allowance and relocation assistance. Eligibility is based on the employee’s ability to permanently relocate to Van Horn, TX. Team Focus & Domain Expertise At our west Texas site, the Engine Test Team executes the mechanical, instrumentation, and processing work that enables safe, reliable rocket engine ground testing - critical to launch readiness and vehicle certification. We receive, inspect, and prepare engine hardware; integrate test articles onto stands; and support all phases of testing in close coordination with ground systems and engineering. Our work includes hands-on engine and component assembly, tube fabrication, ground support equipment setup, and precision calibration and instrumentation. Technicians manage hardware validation, assembly, maintenance, and inventory while rigorously upholding safety around hazardous chemicals, high-pressure systems, and cryogenic propellants. Operating under written procedures, engineering models, and test protocols, we apply deep knowledge of P&IDs, instrumentation (transducers, RTDs, accelerometers, strain gages), and data acquisition systems to troubleshoot, verify, and document performance. We maintain 5S and FOD discipline, safely handle large flight and test hardware with cranes and heavy-lift equipment, and collaborate daily with engineers and operations to continuously improve and drive mission success for Blue Origin’s engine programs.
