About The Position

Under the general direction of the Engine Production Manager, the engine technician is responsible for assisting in the building, maintaining, and optimizing engines that power race cars. This role demands a meticulous individual who possesses knowledge of engine mechanics. Our ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Safety is our utmost priority, and we are looking for someone who is committed to adhering to all safety protocols and procedures. You will also need to have a fundamental understanding of tools and machinery relevant to engine assembly and disassembly, ensuring that you possess both the practical skills and the experience necessary for success in this position.

  • The position requires regular and predictable attendance.
  • Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • This role can not be performed remotely and must be performed in-person onsite.
  • Requires vision (near, distance, depth) and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses.
  • Constantly manually manipulates.
  • Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches outward, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pull up to 40 pounds.
  • Occasionally reaches above shoulder, climbs, crawls, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.
  • Basic verbal and writing skills required.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Clean Engine Post Race and Flush Fluids
  • Inspect or Change Valve Springs, Pushrods, and Rocker’s.
  • Fill out all MSM, Dyno Sheets, and Confirm Cycles.
  • Maintain and lubricate parts and components for assembly.
  • Verify conformance of parts to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Install Spark Plugs, Belts, Intake, and source Fuel Pump for Engine Dyno.
  • Maintain and lubricate parts and components.
  • Service and prep Oil Filters for Engine Delivery
  • Assist with Chassis Dyno as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager
