SUMMARY: An Engine Apprentice supports engine maintenance activities by assisting with disassembly, cleaning, and parts organization while gaining foundational knowledge within a Part 145 MRO environment. This role is designed for those currently enrolled, or recently completed, an FAA-certified Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) program and working towards their license. An Engine Apprentice must possess a strong mechanical inclination and a proactive drive to develop technical expertise and a long-term career within the aviation industry. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist senior technicians with basic shop tasks such as tool preparation, engine cleaning, tool organization and component handling. Shadow experienced A&P technicians to observe proper techniques in disassembly, inspection and repair. Learn and adhere to company polices and procedures, including safety procedures and maintenance best practices. Actively participate in on-the-job training (OJT) and site-specific safety programs to advance technical skill levels. Develop proficiency with aviation specialized tools, technical manuals, and shop workflows. Assist with documenting maintenance activities and checklists under direct supervision. Attend technical training sessions and consistently apply newly acquired skills Follow all safety policies, procedures, and quality standards. Other duties as assigned.
