About The Position

Since every employee is the face of Crosspoint Power and Refrigeration to our customers, it is the responsibility of all successful candidates to provide outstanding customer service and maintain excellent customer relations, as measured by the Excellence in Everything initiative of CP&R. The Operations Engineer would be responsible for daily operations of the engine upfit operation while following proper Crosspoint procedures and reporting to the Operations Manager at the Engines Location. These responsibilities are broken into 5 key categories: Engineering: The Engine Application Engineer will be responsible for conducting application reviews on diesel engines, gas engines, and engine accessories to ensure compliance with Yanmar and Ford standards. This position will collaborate with customers, the sales team, and the manufacturer to capture all required engineering data and to report the findings. All information will be reviewed by the engine manufacturer to ensure adherence to their standards. This position will require engineering analysis, proficiency with test equipment, and the ability to recommend and manage design changes as needed. Upfit Operations: The Engine Application Engineer will be responsible for the upfit operation, including managing build technicians, developing/following build processes, ensuring quality standards are met, and promoting a safe work environment. The Operations Engineer is responsible for communicating with engine sales support staff and properly scheduling work based on sales needs. The Engine Application Engineer must work to achieve productivity and efficiency of metrics through continuous improvement. The Engine Application Engineer will be responsible for communicating with the engine sales staff to ensure proper delivery of engines to the customers while confirming that engines are properly billed to the customer. Communication: The Application Engineer must maintain a proper level of communication between the operation manager, parts personnel, and engine sales team through regularly scheduled meetings. The Application Engineer must communicate issues in a timely manner. The Application Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining a strong level of communication with the upfit technician. Key Performance Indicators: The Operations Engineer must focus on and closely monitor and/or improve the following key performance indicators: Upfit Technician Productivity, Quality Issues, Inventory Turns, Engines Over 365 Days in Age, and Stock Outs. Goals for these KPIs will be set yearly and reviewed periodically throughout the year with the Operation Manager and President.

Requirements

  • College Degree, Engineering Degree BS/AS
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with leading and managing teams
  • Have and maintain current operator’s driver’s license
  • Computer skills and strong understanding of iM3 software with ability to learn in-house inventory control software
  • Willingness to work with multiple tasks and people
  • Willingness to take instructions from management and senior staff members
  • Willing to learn in Crosspoint’s environment
  • Interpersonal Skills and willing to work as a team
  • Effective verbal and listening communications skills

  • Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.), or equivalent
