About The Position

You will be part of a fast-growing PE-backed business that allows high-performing employees to make an impact and contribute to growing the business. As an Engagement Manager, you will act as the day-to-day lead on small and mid-size projects or key workstreams within larger engagements. You will increasingly work through others, coaching / supporting Analysts and Consultants, making strong individual contributions, and providing effective support to senior team members where needed. You will be a core point of contact for clients, developing productive and enduring relationships and beginning to establish yourself as a credible strategic advisor. You will help ensure projects are delivered effectively, efficiently and in line with Prescient’s high-quality standards. As your clients will mainly be in the US, the Engagement Manager position requires a good understanding of the evolving US biopharmaceutical market and trends.

Requirements

  • Experience in biopharma client services/consulting is required. CI experience is preferred.
  • Strong results orientation with a proven track record of: Proven ability to manage day-to-day project execution, ensuring high-quality outputs and timely delivery Skilled at structuring workstreams, managing junior team members, and maintaining project momentum
  • Awareness of business development opportunities, with the ability to recognise potential areas for account growth, contribute to proposal development, and support senior leaders in strengthening client relationships.
  • A strong grounding in therapeutic areas, clinical development, product strategy, and the competitive landscape. Ability to quickly learn new disease areas and modalities.
  • Emerging client management skills Comfortable interacting directly with clients to clarify needs, present findings, and support ongoing engagement Ability to build trust through credibility, preparedness, and thoughtful communication
  • Growing capability to act as a strategic partner, including recognizing business development opportunities to add value or expand support within an account
  • Clear and confident communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients and internal teams, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to strategic discussions with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Ability to connect details to strategic implications, synthesize complex information, and communicate insights in a clear, structured manner.
  • Willingness to “roll up sleeves” to support analyses while helping elevate the team’s work Ability to give and receive feedback constructively
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, adapting to new situations, and rapidly acquiring new therapeutic or methodological expertise.
  • BA/BS required; advanced degree in a life science discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Report to a Director, Associate Vice President, or Vice President within the Competitive Strategy practice, ensuring clear communication on project progress, risks, and resource needs.
  • Lead the day-to-day management of competitive strategy and competitive intelligence engagements, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Structure and manage workstreams, guide junior team members, and ensure analytical approaches align with client objectives.
  • Build credibility by understanding client contexts, anticipating needs, and delivering thoughtful, actionable insights. Support senior leaders in ensuring clients experience best-in-class service throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities across existing accounts, shaping proposals and recommending strategic growth pathways to account leads. Take a leading role in deepening client relationships, regularly engaging senior stakeholders, articulating value, and driving account expansion through consistent, high-impact delivery.
  • Develop and apply a strong understanding of relevant therapeutic areas, clinical development pathways, regulatory considerations, and competitive environments. Serve as a knowledge resource to internal teams.
  • Provide day-to-day coaching, feedback, and oversight to junior team members to support their development and ensure high-quality contributions.
  • Attend industry conferences or virtual events to gather competitive insights, deepen therapeutic knowledge, and build familiarity with key stakeholders and trends.
