About The Position

The Engagement Leader - Interactive Response Technology is a Senior Director role within the Interactive Response Technology Global Oversight Team (IGOT), accountable for defining and executing Pfizer’s enterprise-wide Interactive Response Technology engagement strategy across internal and external platforms. This role leads a global organization of approximately 15–20 FTEs and contractors and serves as the single accountable owner for Interactive Response Technology engagement across a diverse, high complexity clinical portfolio. The role is responsible for strategic portfolio oversight, vendor governance, quality and compliance accountability, and cross functional alignment, ensuring that Interactive Response Technology solutions enable safe, compliant, and patient centric clinical trials at scale. The Interactive Response Technology Engagement Group Lead represents Pfizer in senior internal forums and external vendor governance, arbitrating tradeoffs across cost, quality, speed, and risk. This position reports to the Head of Clinical Supply Informatics & Technology (CSIT) within Global Clinical Supply. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Define and continuously evolve the Interactive Response Technology engagement operating model and strategy across Global Clinical Supply, aligned to portfolio complexity, therapeutic area needs, and enterprise priorities. Own portfolio level decision making for Interactive Response Technology deployment approaches, including internal vs external solutions, vendor selection, and escalation pathways. Anticipate emerging risks and opportunities and influence senior leadership decisions impacting clinical delivery, compliance posture, and patient outcomes. People, Resource & Financial Accountability Lead, develop, and retain a high performing global team, establishing clear accountability, succession planning, and capability development. Plan and manage portfolio capacity and resourcing, leveraging resources both within and outside direct authority to meet business demands. Partner with finance, procurement, and leadership to balance cost, quality, and delivery tradeoffs across the Interactive Response Technology portfolio. Vendor Governance & External Influence Serve as Pfizer’s senior escalation point for Interactive Response Technology vendors, leading governance forums, performance management, and remediation efforts. Represent IGOT in audits, inspections, and executive level vendor discussions, ensuring transparent, defensible, and compliant outcomes. Drive continuous improvement in vendor performance, quality culture, and innovation adoption. Quality, Compliance & Risk Ownership Maintain accountability for compliance with GCP, GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and applicable regulations across internal and vendor hosted Interactive Response Technology systems. Sponsor and lead quality investigations, CAPA strategies, and operating model enhancements to mitigate systemic risk. Act as SOP owner and ensure inspection readiness across IGOT and partner lines. Cross Functional & Enterprise Leadership Influence and align stakeholders across GCS, CD&O, Digital & Technology, Quality, and external partners. Sponsor and lead cross functional initiatives that improve enterprise efficiency, compliance, and patient experience. Recognized internally and externally as a subject matter expert in IRT, clinical supply systems, and regulated digital delivery.

Requirements

  • A successful candidate will have a BA/BS with at least 12+ years of experience, an MBA/MS with at least 10+ years of experience, a PhD/JD with at least 7 years of experience, or an MD/DVM with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical supply systems and processes, and how IRT enables compliant, patient‑centric trial execution at scale.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise‑level IRT strategy and operating models, including standardization, scalability, and risk‑based deployment approaches.
  • Extensive experience working in regulated environments, with strong understanding of GCP, GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and computerized system validation principles.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of system lifecycle management, including requirements definition, configuration oversight, user acceptance testing (UAT), release approval, and system changes.
  • Proven ability to govern IRT vendor performance, including technical due diligence, quality oversight, issue remediation, and escalation management.
  • Strong digital and technology fluency, enabling effective partnership with Digital & Technology, Quality, and external vendors on modern, scalable, and compliant solutions.
  • Proven experience in strategic leadership and business management.
  • Expertise in Interactive Response Technology systems.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Proficient in managing cross-functional teams.
