About The Position

A large reputable energy company in Bellevue, WA is currently hiring for a Sr. Technical Writer to support the Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) team. This role requires advanced Technical Writing and Editing experience, the ability to ensure technical documents meet the editorial and customer specifications, and partner with the energy traders, risk analysts, IT, and business stakeholders to research, develop, edit, and publish complex technical documentation that supports critical energy trading, risk, and compliance systems. Pay - $50/hr. - $60/hr. (Depending on tenure, level of experience, relevant industry, etc.). Location - Bellevue, WA (Hybrid) Schedule - Standard Monday - Friday Morning Shift

Requirements

  • Advanced technical writing and editing experience.
  • Full cycle technical document management experience.
  • Comfortable taking the drug test upon onboarding (THC testing).

  • Any current or prior energy/utility company experience is a big bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Research, prepare, and edit complex technical documentation related to Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems, processes, integrations, and workflows.
  • Ensure all documentation meets editorial standards, customer specifications, and quality guidelines, including format, graphics, and style.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), including traders, risk analysts, developers, and system owners, to gather, validate, and refine technical content.
  • Interface with writers, illustrators, and publishing resources to coordinate and prepare edited drafts.
  • Manage documentation through the full lifecycle: creation, review, approval, publication, and updates.
  • Publish formatted documentation across multiple media (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, PDF, internal knowledge bases).
  • Maintain current knowledge of assigned technical subject matter, including ETRM platforms, trading workflows, and regulatory considerations.
  • Participate as an active member of project teams, supporting system enhancements, upgrades, and operational readiness initiatives.
  • Track documentation deliverables to support project milestones, audit readiness, and ongoing system support.
