PA's experts are at the forefront of modeling and analyzing the power sector's evolution, helping clients understand investment risks and opportunities. PA’s Global Energy and Utilities team is seeking a Denver-based consultant with energy analytics, quantitative analysis, and fundamentals experience. This role supports energy investor and utility clients in navigating diverse and evolving investment and operating environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate/project finance, investment banking, or restructuring, with specific experience in the energy industry. Key skills include developing financial models, conducting due diligence, preparing presentations, developing three-statement financial models, performing 13-week cash flow analyses, understanding Chapter 11 processes, completing asset valuations, managing client relationships, and staying informed on industry trends, including policy and regulation.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or degree equivalent in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
  • 2-3 years of work experience, ideally in a consulting or professional services environment
  • Experience in financial modeling and analysis (particularly in Excel), including constructing and understanding 3-statement financial models, cash flows, and scenario analyses
  • Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data
  • Ability to interpret the results of qualitative and quantitative analysis and develop insights and recommendations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with junior and senior team members, senior management, and other stakeholders or professionals
  • Mature presence, empathy, intellectual curiosity, and ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team dynamic
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize changing work demands and learn quickly
  • Strong background in corporate/project finance, investment banking, or restructuring, with experience in the energy industry
  • Skills in developing financial models, conducting due diligence, and preparing presentations
  • Ability to develop three-statement financial models, 13-week cash flow analyses, understand Chapter 11 processes, and complete asset valuations
  • Managing client relationships and working closely with members across the team
  • Maintaining knowledge of industry trends, including policy and regulation

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day activities of PA’s Energy and Utilities team on engagements
  • Execute multiple tasks across a consulting engagement including modeling and client presentations
  • Utilize business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to perform tasks including: 13-week cash flow models, 3-statement models, and pro-forma scenario models
  • Assist in preparation of reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables
