About The Position

We are looking for a talented individual to join CLEAResult as an Energy Technician. As an Energy Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality, field‑based energy‑efficiency services to residential customers. You will act as the local on‑site representative for both the program and CLEAResult, installing energy‑efficient measures, performing technical verifications, and supporting customers and contractors throughout the upgrade process. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, interacting with customers, traveling throughout a defined territory, and helping communities reduce energy use through practical, real‑world improvements.

Requirements

  • 6 months–1 year of related experience
  • A high school diploma or associate degree (technical certifications or relevant training preferred)
  • Interest in energy efficiency and hands‑on technical field work
  • Willingness to learn equipment installation techniques and program requirements
  • Ability to represent CLEAResult professionally in customer homes and contractor settings
  • A commitment to delivering quality work while promoting energy‑efficiency solutions
  • Strong mechanical or technical aptitude
  • Customer‑service mindset with a professional, helpful approach
  • Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and specifications
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively with program staff
  • Comfort with travel and field‑based work

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation of residential energy‑efficiency upgrades and equipment.
  • Conduct pre‑installation and post‑installation verifications to ensure quality and program compliance.
  • Gather detailed technical data during site visits following program and client specifications.
  • Record and report customer and contractor interactions accurately to program staff.
  • Ensure all documentation meets program requirements and supports quality tracking.
  • Troubleshoot installation‑related issues and technical challenges.
  • Recommend solutions and corrective actions in alignment with client specifications and program guidelines.
  • Serve as the on‑site program representative, helping customers and contractors understand program offerings and benefits.
  • Encourage participation and assist in overcoming barriers to installing energy‑efficiency upgrades.
  • Travel frequently throughout a defined territory to complete field assignments.
  • Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to meet program or customer needs.
  • Support program staff and clients with energy‑efficiency initiatives, retrofit projects, or new‑construction efforts.
  • Provide technical advice, guidance, and occasional training to ensure high‑quality installations.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties that contribute to program success.
