About The Position

About Vantage Data Centers Vantage Data Centers powers, cools, protects and connects the technology of the world’s well-known hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. Developing and operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, Vantage has evolved data center design in innovative ways to deliver dramatic gains in reliability, efficiency and sustainability in flexible environments that can scale as quickly as the market demands. Product Department The Product team at Vantage defines and stewards our global product platform: the customer outcomes we aim to deliver, the reference designs and standards that make delivery repeatable, and the closed-loop learning that turns each deployment into an upgrade for the next. We do this in partnership with Engineering, Delivery, Operations, Sustainability, Sales, Site Selection, and Business Development, aligning priorities and trade-offs while preserving clear functional ownership for design execution, construction delivery, and site operations. Product’s role is to create clarity, consistency, and leverage at Vantage scale. Position Overview This role will be based in Denver, CO. Vantage Data Centers is seeking an undergraduate or graduate intern to help prototype an AI‑assisted, interactive model that explores how grid power, renewable energy, on‑premise generation, and long‑duration energy storage can be combined into resilient, flexible energy systems for AI‑driven data centers. This role focuses on conceptual system modeling and explaining system‑level tradeoffs.

Requirements

  • Comfort with systems thinking and understanding how components interact
  • Curiosity about infrastructure and real‑world constraints
  • Interest in AI as a reasoning and decision‑support tool

Nice To Haves

  • STEM background preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Build a modular, interactive representation of energy system components (grid, renewables, on‑site generation, storage) and how they can be “stacked” in different market contexts
  • Use AI tools to help explain system‑level tradeoffs across cost, reliability, speed‑to‑power, and flexibility
  • Develop scenario-based views (e.g., weak grid vs. strong grid, fast AI load ramp vs. gradual ramp) that show how different energy stacks perform conceptually
  • Translate complex energy concepts into clear, executive‑ready narratives that support product and market discussions
  • Document assumptions, limitations, and areas where more detailed engineering or simulation would be required
  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Benefits

  • We operate with No Ego and No Arrogance.
  • We work to build each other up and support one another, appreciating each other’s strengths and respecting each other’s weaknesses.
  • We find joy in our work and each other, actively seeking opportunities to inject fun into what we do.
  • Our hard and efficient work is rewarded with an above market total compensation package.
  • We offer a comprehensive suite of health and welfare, retirement, and paid leave benefits exceeding local expectations.
  • Throughout the year, the advantage of being part of the Vantage team is evident with an array of benefits, recognition, training and development, and the knowledge that your contribution adds value to the company and our community.
