About The Position

Bowdoin College is embarking on a plan to become a fossil free campus. A major piece of this plan is to transition the campus district heating system from steam to low temperature hot water. Under limited supervision, this position will provide coordination and project management for a variety of projects that will help the campus achieve this transition. This position will be responsible for building upgrades and renovations as well as the construction of a new campus hot water distribution system and will lead the effort from project initiation through completion of construction and occupancy. The Energy Project Manager will serve as point of contact for stakeholders on campus and representative for the College when working with designers, consultants, vendors, contractors, and local and state officials. Additionally, this position will be responsible for monitoring the performance of contractors and consultants, negotiating change orders, monitoring project schedules, and managing construction administration and the project close-out process.
