Energy Northwest is seeking a driven and detail-oriented intern to join the Energy Services & Development (ESD) team for a full-time, year-long internship. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on real-world energy programs and projects in clean energy, utility services, and infrastructure development. As part of the ESD team, the intern will support planning, coordination, and implementation of innovative energy initiatives in collaboration with internal departments, member utilities, and external stakeholders. The position will provide exposure to project management, grant-funded programs, renewable energy planning, and public utility engagement. This is a paid year-round internship located in Richland, WA. GENERAL SUMMARY Provide entry-level to more advanced technical support for the designated organization based on assigned projects and student skill level. This position will be directly accountable to assigned department staff and will support assigned project related activities and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Requires current part to full time enrollment status in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program in a technical field related to the assigned role at an accredited college or university.
  • Must maintain a minimum 2.8 cumulative G.P.A. unless approved by Human Resources.
  • The selected candidate will be expected to be available to work onsite in Richland, WA.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

  • Support project planning and execution for clean energy programs including EV infrastructure, energy storage, distributed energy resources, and workforce development
  • Assist with data tracking, reporting, and performance metrics for ongoing projects
  • Conduct research and support the development of scopes, budgets, and schedules
  • Participate in meetings and collaborate with internal and external project partners
  • Support preparation of materials such as presentations, reports, and proposals
  • Help maintain documentation and ensure accuracy of project files and updates
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned by the ESD team
  • Support assigned routine department activities.
  • Support technical project-related activities within the department.
  • Support emergent related work or assignments.
