About The Position

Do you want to explore your career field?  Are we the road to your future? We are accepting applications for our Energy Engineering Interns. This position will be based out of our Lexington, KY office. We do not offer relocation or housing assistance. This position is for undergraduate students majoring in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Materials Engineering, or minoring in Mapping and GIS. Our program is offered during the summer but may also be considered throughout fall or spring semester depending on office needs and resources.    What you’ll be doing: Explore the energy industry and test your skills with real world problems and solutions Learn systems, processes, and best practices  Receive a project assignment or job duties that are related to your major Learn business and office etiquette Understand safety procedures and gain field experience on site visits with our team Present your project or experience to leadership at the end of your internship   What you need to have: Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student Minimum of Sophomore standing is recommended High school graduate with Freshman standing may be considered if involved in a STEM or leadership program Have a cumulative 2.50 undergraduate GPA Be enrolled in a degree seeking program related to a degree field below: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mapping and GIS (Minor) Preference to work 40 hours per week (plus overtime, if necessary) At a minimum, 30 hours per week during the summer Hours may vary during the spring or fall semester (10 – 20 hours per week) Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
