About The Position

We are seeking an Energy Engineer level I or II to join Cascade Energy! The Energy Engineer will work directly with our clients to assess their operations and identify opportunities for maximizing energy efficiency and performance in industrial systems. Energy Engineer takes a consultative role, gathers data, creates optimization models of industrial systems and writes feasibility reports for energy efficiency projects while leading overall management of projects. The Engineer contributes to peer support and quality control review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study
  • Engineer I: 0 – 3 yrs of engineering experience
  • Engineer II: 3-6 years of energy efficiency experience, or closely related engineering experience
  • Some technical knowledge of refrigeration, compressed air systems, steam systems, custom computer modeling of systems, electrical distribution system design, industrial control and data-logging of system results
  • Experience with industrial facilities, energy efficiency, and data analysis

Nice To Haves

  • Experience from DOE Industrial Assessment Center is a plus
  • Familiarity or experience in Python

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the management, direction, and accountability on assigned projects
  • Calculating energy savings for various system or equipment changes using existing calculation tools, original spreadsheets, and/or generally accepted methodologies
  • Engaging with clients at their industrial locations to fully understand their equipment and operations and identify opportunities for energy efficiency
  • Fostering and growing client relationships and identifying opportunities for generating additional work from current clients
  • Discussing technical issues with a diverse audience in a way that facilitates understanding and agreement
  • Assisting with composing energy efficiency project reports based on analyses and observations
  • Documenting performance through data collection from customer sources or via installed data logging equipment
  • Maintaining a basic understanding of utility programs and their compliance requirements
  • Contributing to peers through technical discussions and work review
