About The Position

This is a summer internship opportunity for Business, Engineering, Math, and Economics majors to gain valuable, real-life experience working side by side with professionals at Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation – a leader in the dynamic, rapidly evolving electric & natural gas utility industry. As an Intern on the Demand-Side Management team, you will gain hands-on experience through impactful work assignments that foster professional growth and stretch your potential. You’ll benefit from one-on-one mentorship with team members, exposure to cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to network with peers across the company and industry. DSM plays a vital role in supporting New York State’s transition to clean energy and building the grid of the future by designing and implementing energy efficiency, beneficial electrification, and load management programs. Our programs provide education, outreach, incentives, and services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers throughout Central Hudson’s territory. As an intern, you will: Gain insight into Central Hudson’s leading energy efficiency, electrification, and load management programs. Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders, including contractors, trade allies, industry partners, the NYS Department of Public Service, and other utilities. Engage directly with Central Hudson customers to support program participation and understanding. Contribute to efforts that enhance grid reliability, sustainability, and customer empowerment. Compensation is highly competitive, and our internship program also allows you to network with Central Hudson employees through various planned events and activities.

Requirements

  • Majors from Business, Engineering, Energy Systems Management, Sustainability, Math, or Economics programs will be considered
  • Candidates must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and currently be an undergraduate student working on their bachelor’s degree in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year.
  • Graduate students working on their master’s degree will also be considered.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities
