About The Position

The Field Technician IV serves as a technical resource and mentor to other Field Technicians and is responsible for performing energy efficiency tasks which may include installations, service and inspections. This position is responsible for educating customers on their usage, installing energy-saving/safety measures and recommending energy saving practices to customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant industry certifications as required by the program required.
  • 3-5 years' construction or industry experience.
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, staff, supervisors, contractors, and clients.
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change when needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Proven ability to work well independently and as a team and meet objectives.
  • Valid driver’s license, and use of personal vehicle may be necessary, to travel to client locations.
  • Compliance with acceptable vehicle insurance levels as outlined in the company policy.
  • Perform the essential functions and physical demands of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred or combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Energy industry experience preferred.
  • Prior team lead or supervisory experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and mentor field technicians and/or teams including providing new program information and training.
  • Act as a point of contact for team questions or concerns.
  • Provide training to employees per management request.
  • Conduct detailed audits, assessments, and work orders assigned daily as scheduled as specified in program contracts and technical specifications.
  • Identify potential conservation measures and savings potential and then recommend the appropriate energy efficient technologies.
  • Provide customers with education sessions and recommendations on energy efficiency measures.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, interpret test results, install program measures and perform minor repairs as appropriate based on program specifications.
  • Perform additional installations or repairs as directed by supervisors.
  • Manage supplied inventory materials and company issued equipment.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers at all times, while providing a high level of customer service and education for each service or installation performed.
  • Support job site preparation and clean-up, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure customer property is treated with care and left in equal or better condition than it was found.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise during appointments.
  • Immediately communicate all existing and potential customer service issues to immediate supervisor to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Collect and analyze field data related to energy usage and provide reports to management as requested.
  • Conduct work in compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
