About The Position

The Energy Assistance Coordinator is responsible for the accurate data entry and processing of customer energy assistance benefits and related billing procedures. This role serves as a primary point of communication with local and state energy assistance agencies in Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel required
  • Able to communicate professionally via phone and email with coworkers, customers, and government agencies
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Detail oriented
  • Analytical skills
  • 4-5 years Excel experience; heavy spreadsheet experience
  • Time management skills in a fast paced environment
  • Able to prioritize work flow and decision making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Enter heating and energy assistance benefit amounts by customer
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of vendor payment vouchers
  • Process and post payments received from local and state agencies
  • Respond to email inquiries related to energy assistance and crisis programs
  • Serve as backup for entering driver delivery tickets
  • Assist with preparing daily invoices and customer statements for mailing
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Billing Manager
  • Process customer account setup, financial statements and other financials to ensure accuracy
  • Timely and accurate customer invoicing, including statement processing, invoice matching, and preparing payables
  • Timely and accurate processing, recording of fuel purchases, inventory management of rail facilities
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Matching bills of lading to vendor invoices for Accounts Payable processing
  • Reconciling various fuel inventories on a daily and month end basis
