About The Position

You will be the Energetics Lab Technician for the Energetics Lab team. Our team is responsible for advancing energetic material research and delivering safe, high‑performance solutions for defense and energy applications. What You Will Be Doing As the Energetics lab technician you will be responsible for: Support Chemists to oversee all laboratory activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures Collaborate with lab personnel, chemists and laboratory technicians to design and implement experiments, analyze data, and troubleshoot issues, taking direction and working independently to support lab operations and testing Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and perform in accordance with these procedures Support the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements Support chemists to document all experimental data, observations, and results in a clear and concise manner, and prepare technical reports as needed Conduct all laboratory activities in a safe, clean, and organized work environment Support management with inventory of energetic materials, ensuring that materials are properly stored and within their expiration dates Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new laboratory methods and procedures Why Join Us We are looking for a meticulous, collaborative professional who thrives in a high‑stakes laboratory setting. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a laboratory setting, experience with energetic materials preferred
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for handling, testing and disposing of energetic materials
  • Experience or prior knowledge of ingredient weighing, mechanical and pneumatic grinding equipment, vertical double planetary mixers, and sample preparation for testing
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality
  • Flexibility to work in shifts or on weekends, as required
  • Some travel may be required
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • This position may require that the employee be eligible and maintain eligibility for a Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience mixing rocket motor energetics and familiarity with associated equipment
  • Minimum of 7 years of energetic or related laboratory experience
  • Experience with mixing energetic materials to include solid propellants
  • Experience guiding and training other technicians
  • Experience enforcing and informing all safety protocols and procedures for working with energetic materials, including proper handling, storage, and disposal.
