About The Position

We’re hunting for an Endoscopy Technician II, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will perform and coordinate a variety of routine and specialized task assignments as indicated by medical orders, nursing standards, and assessment to assist the licensed nurse and physicians in rendering age-appropriate care to patients in the GIPS and other units as assigned. Requirements

  • Required H.S. Diploma or equivalent with a preferred associate degree
  • Completion of SGNA Advanced Associates Program
  • 3 years Endoscopy tech experience
  • As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates basic nursing care.
  • Performs basic nursing care in accordance with nursing standards of practice / care by observing
  • Reporting patient condition, collaborating with the RN, and documenting appropriately.
  • Assists nursing staff and physicians with routine and complex procedures as assigned by the charge nurse including, but not limited to:
  • ERCPs
  • GI bleeds
  • Esophageal and pyloric dilatations
  • Acts as a runner / patient transporter to other departments within the hospital.
  • Demonstrates effective communication with customers and staff.
  • Utilizes CORI, Pentax, Olympus Medtronic computer systems.
  • Prepares patient care areas for procedures and observes guidelines for infection control.
  • Effectively manages supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinates training of staff on the use of GIPS equipment.
