About The Position

Overview Endoscopy, Full Time Days Schedule is 6:30 am-3 pm Mon-Friday ON CALL SCHEDULE: Weekend call about every other weekend and on call 2-3 nights a week HIGHLY PREFER previous endoscopy experience, pre, intra and post Responsibilities Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic procedures. Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order. Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy. Provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Performance of clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy. Assemble and maintain patient chart material, maintain records and files, maintains order, cleanliness of the workstation. Completes charges for patients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic procedures Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy Assemble and maintain patient chart material, maintain records and files, maintains order, cleanliness of the workstation May record vital signs and perform other general patient care functions. Performs clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy Completes charges for patients KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Basic computer skills. Knowledge of handling hazardous substances. Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in-writing. Tact, discretion, diplomacy, and ability to work effectively with others. Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of handling hazardous substances.
  • Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in-writing.
  • Tact, discretion, diplomacy, and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Current AHA BLS Certification Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of GI/OR Technology program Preferred
  • Graduate of CNA/MA program Preferred
  • Previous experience as Unit Secretary or as CNA/MA Preferred
  • Previous experience in Endoscopy Preferred
  • HIGHLY PREFER previous endoscopy experience, pre, intra and post
