Growing together. As the Endoscopy Assistant I, you will assist nursing staff and physicians with patient care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. As well as clean, disinfect and perform routine maintenance on endoscopic equipment. Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • 3+ years of experience in a clinical setting
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional and appropriate manner.
  • Proven solid interpersonal, customer service, time management, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize activities

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in medical assisting or graduate of certificate program
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty
  • CPR certification
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Support patient flow in the Endoscopy unit, including escorting and assisting with gowning and mobility post-sedation
  • Aid in patient admission, discharge, monitoring in recovery, and IV removal under RN supervision
  • Clean and restock procedure rooms, manage linens, and assist with patient education before and after procedures
  • Set up procedure rooms per physician preferences and perform rigorous cleaning and maintenance of endoscopic equipment
  • Conduct equipment quality control checks and help orient new Endoscopy Assistants to departmental protocols
