Endoscopic Technician - GI Lab - Full Time, Days Here’s What You Need High School Diploma or equivalent required 1 year GI clinical or hospital experience preferred CNA – Certified Nurses Aide upon hire preferred OR MA – Medical Assistant upon hire preferred OR EMT – Emergency Medical Technician upon hire preferred AND BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required What You Will Do Sets up endoscopic equipment including specific individualized equipment after assessment of patient. Assists physicians and RNs throughout procedures. Handles instrumentation from basic to complex procedures. Takes actions to reduce or eliminate patient risk. Demonstrates teamwork and partnership in delivering care in the GI Lab. Works with on-call team to finish call cases in most efficient, safe manner possible. Operates automatic scope washers and understands the principles of high level disinfection. Cleans scopes manually according to guidelines set forth per manufacturer. Keeps proper records and documents accordingly in daily logs in scope processing room.
