The End User Compute (EUC) Security Specialist is responsible for strengthening and safeguarding the organization's desktop, application, and user-level security posture. As a member of the Service Desk within Enterprise Technology Services, this role dedicates approximately 70% of its time to EUC-related security work - including Microsoft Defender-based endpoint protection, Purview data security controls, patching, application governance, secure configuration baselines, inventory accuracy, employee cybersecurity awareness, simulated phishing programs, and email/browser protection. The remaining 30% focuses on advancing Service Desk process maturity, workflow automation through scripting (PowerShell preferred), and assisting with overflow support tickets during peak demand or staff absences.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years combined experience in Service Desk/End User Support and security-related responsibilities.
  • Extensive experience supporting Windows and macOS endpoints.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Intune, and related M365 security tools.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security tools, secure configuration management, patching, and mobile device management.
  • Experience with service management platforms such as Freshservice.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks including CIS & NIST.
  • Strong documentation, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Professional, empathetic, and proactive customer service orientation.
  • Strong ethical judgement suitable for financial services.
  • Team-oriented with strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude with strong follow-through.
  • Desire to grow technically and work with IT groups on cross-functional initiatives.

  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve desktop and application patching programs using Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune and Defender for Endpoint insights.
  • Administer and monitor desktop application controls, including allow/deny listing and configuration baselines informed by Microsoft security tooling.
  • Maintain accurate EUC asset inventory using Microsoft-based management and reporting tools.
  • Support email and browser security controls leveraging Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
  • Investigate and remediate EUC-level security incidents in partnership with the Infrastructure team.
  • Provide guidance and secure-configuration best practices, including automation through scripting.
  • Identify Service Desk process improvement opportunities and lead automation initiatives using scripting.
  • Develop and maintain clear process documentation, knowledge base articles, and user guides.
  • Assist with overflow Service Desk tickets during peak times, vacations, holidays, or staffing gaps.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a high-quality end-user support experience.
  • Participate in EUC and security-related IT projects.
  • Coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting and support needs.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to align endpoint security with enterprise strategy.
  • Participate in the Service Desk’s on-call/shift rotation and perform additional duties as assigned.
