About The Position

As part of the AMD Server Performance Group, you will influence the performance architecture of next-generation AMD products to accelerate Cloud and AI Datacenter workloads . This team drives system performance over the lifetime of AMD Datacenter systems. To enable industry-leading AMD EPYC and Instinct systems, you will collaborate with the silicon design teams and co-optimize with the largest companies in the Cloud and AI computing industries.

Requirements

  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrated through technical publications, presentations, trainings, executive briefings, etc.
  • You are highly adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and engineers alike, ready to mentor and guide, and help to elevate the knowledge and skills of the team around you.
  • A strong candidate will have experience with the performance analysis of Server system architecture and the related software stacks.
  • You will work in both pre-silicon design and post-silicon evaluation environments, include the development of performance models.
  • As a senior member of the technical team, you’ll also be leading projects and driving innovations that are critical to AMD’s Datacenter business segment.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in performance analysis and/or workload characterization
  • Experience developing and designing with processor performance models
  • Extensive experience in processor micro-architecture and computer architecture
  • Knowledge of system architecture including CPU, GPU, cache, interconnect, memory, I/O, and accelerator subsystems
  • Familiarity with performance-critical Datacenter workloads and Cloud services
  • History of developing code, scripts, and/or applications

Responsibilities

  • Characterization and modeling of cutting-edge Cloud & AI applications
  • Exploring opportunities to improve server system performance through hardware and/or software optimization
  • Driving and enabling new performance features for AMD products and systems
  • Collaborating with other AMD architects on novel processor and system designs
  • Working with AMD's business team on performance of our product portfolio
  • Working with customers to optimize our system design for their workloads
