About The Position

As part of the AMD Server Performance Group, you will influence the performance architecture of next-generation AMD products to accelerate Cloud and AI Datacenter workloads . This team drives system performance over the lifetime of AMD Datacenter systems. To enable industry-leading AMD EPYC and Instinct systems, you will collaborate with the silicon design teams and co-optimize with the largest companies in the Cloud and AI computing industries.

You have excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrated through technical publications, presentations, trainings, executive briefings, etc.
You are highly adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and engineers alike, ready to mentor and guide, and help to elevate the knowledge and skills of the team around you.
A strong candidate will have experience with the performance analysis of Server system architecture and the related software stacks.
You will work in both pre-silicon design and post-silicon evaluation environments, include the development of performance models.
As a senior member of the technical team, you’ll also be leading projects and driving innovations that are critical to AMD’s Datacenter business segment.

Nice To Haves

Background in performance analysis and/or workload characterization
Experience developing and designing with processor performance models
Extensive experience in processor micro-architecture and computer architecture
Knowledge of system architecture including CPU, GPU, cache, interconnect, memory, I/O, and accelerator subsystems
Familiarity with performance-critical Datacenter workloads and Cloud services
History of developing code, scripts, and/or applications

Responsibilities

Characterization and modeling of cutting-edge Cloud & AI applications
Exploring opportunities to improve server system performance through hardware and/or software optimization
Driving and enabling new performance features for AMD products and systems
Collaborating with other AMD architects on novel processor and system designs
Working with AMD's business team on performance of our product portfolio
Working with customers to optimize our system design for their workloads
