MedFleet EMT’s will collaborate with Municipal, County, and private Fire / rescue services as well as other medical staff, patients and family members. EMT’s will take great care in the maintenance and operation of company vehicles, and shall thoroughly and accurately complete and submit all required documentation. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Responds promptly to all non-emergency and emergency calls. All MedFleet EMT/Drivers shall be enroute to pick-up location within three (3) minutes from time of receiving call regardless of time of call, unless call is scheduled for a later pick-up EVOC certified personnel will operate ambulance with due regard for the safety of all persons at all Extricates accident victims from damaged motor When responding to an emergency call or while transporting a patient, driver may exercise the privileges set forth in Chapter 316.051 (5) S. EMT’s shall in the manner set forth in their training, assist in lifting patients into and out of vehicles, ambulance, wheelchair, stretcher, etc., and shall secure patients from movement during transport and drives with due caution to avoid any unnecessary cause of motion that may be detrimental to the EMT’s shall administer emergency medical care within the scope of training and adopted medical protocol. EMT’s shall prepare and complete required run reports. Reports not filled out in the prescribed manner shall be returned to the EMT for revision and reoccurrence will result in retraining and/or disciplinary action. EMT’s shall demonstrate proficiency in the proper operation of radio equipment. EMT/Drivers will always keep patient information EMT’s will never, at any time, discuss matters not related to the performance of their MedFleet duties over the EMT’s shall attend all staff meetings and company trainings as EMT’s shall maintain and insure that all supplies are available in sufficient quantities as required to operate an emergency ambulance and wheelchair unit, and that all equipment is operational. EMT’s shall ensure that their assigned ambulance will be clean inside and out at all times and may be subject to unannounced inspection at any time. EMT’s shall ensure that vehicle checklists are thoroughly and accurately completed at the start of each shift. EMT’s shall regularly change linen on stretcher and provide clean bedding for every EMT’s shall complete daily station duties, any special details, or other assignment as required by management. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: EMT’s shall possess knowledge of Basic Life Support (BLS) functions, CPR and the use of life sustaining equipment and practices. EMT’s shall have knowledge of safety procedures, comfort manners, and methods in the handling and treatment of elderly, sick or injured EMT’s shall have knowledge of Florida safety requirements and privileges when responding to non-emergency and emergency situations. EMT’s shall obey all traffic laws when not assigned to a response call. EMT’s will successfully complete a 16-hour EVOC course at a minimum to obtain driving privileges. EMT’s will be required to become familiar with the road/highway system within Pasco EMT’s will have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in EMT’s must have the ability to work as part of a team to support and back up their partner and other personnel.
