About The Position

Medcor is seeking an EMT or Paramedic for an Onsite Health Technician role on a PRN (as-needed) basis at a construction site clinic in Kansas City, MO. The position involves working Monday-Saturday, 6:00 AM - 5:30 PM, with night shifts also available, and hours may vary based on client needs. The role requires comfort working in a construction environment, including climbing stairs and working at heights. Medcor, established in 1984, offers stability, opportunities for vertical, horizontal, and geographical growth (20% of openings filled internally annually), extensive training, and an open-door policy. This position does not guarantee hours but offers flexibility for occasional shifts. The Onsite Health Technician will collaborate with Medcor's medical and operational leadership, local medical providers, and client staff. Key day-to-day responsibilities include patient care, ongoing workers' compensation case management, Return to Work (RTW) program facilitation, and treatment plan monitoring, working closely with outside medical providers.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • comfortable working in a construction environment
  • good with computers and some familiarity with EMR software
  • experience in emergency medicine or critical care

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily operations at Medcor  s on-site clinic
  • Provide superior customer service to Medcor  s client and employees
  • Assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor  s Evidence Based Medicine protocols, known as the Medcor Care Protocols (MCPs)
  • Build and maintain internal team relationships
  • Support for onsite employee health and wellness efforts
  • Pre-employment and post-offer screenings
  • Documentation of care using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
  • Physical Assessment Testing (PATs)
  • Case Management
  • Medical charting
  • OSHA record-keeping
  • Collaborative work with the medical and operational leadership at Medcor, local medical providers, client staff, with key contacts within the client  s corporate structure
  • Patient care
  • Ongoing workers  s compensation case management
  • Return to Work (RTW) program facilitation
  • Treatment plan monitoring
  • Work closely with outside medical providers
