The Center for Emergency Medicine - Ambulance and Chair is looking to hire Casual Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B). Covering a diverse urban-to-rural response area, our team answers an average of 40,000 calls annually across 45 communities in Washington and Greene Counties, providing both 911 emergency response and non-emergency medical transport. Position Summary The EMT -Basic provides high quality prehospital emergency medical care and non-emergency medical transportation in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations, regional protocols, and Ambulance and Chair policies. EMTs function as a part of a multidisciplinary team focused on patient-centered care, safety, and professionalism. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Current Pennsylvania EMT-Basic certification
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Current BLS card
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator (EMSVO) certificate
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including lifting and moving patients
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and remain calm in high-stress situations
  • Clearances must be dated within 90 days: Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal Act 33 with renewal Act 34 Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Nice To Haves

  • Prior EMS experience
  • Familiarity with electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) systems
  • Interest in mentorship, education, or service development initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Respond to 911 and non-emergency calls in a safe, timely, and professional manner
  • Perform patient assessments and provide Basic Life Support care within PA scope of practice
  • Safely operate ambulances and related equipment in emergency and non-emergency conditions
  • Assist with patient movement, lifting, and transport using powered stretchers and loading systems
  • Accurately complete electronic patient care reports
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, dispatch, hospitals, and partner agencies
  • Maintain readiness of vehicles, equipment, and supplies
  • Participate in continuing education, training, quality improvement, and research initiatives
  • Uphold company values, patient confidentiality, and a culture of trust and teamwork
