Our EMT Academy is a paid apprenticeship program. If accepted into the EMT Academy, you will complete a tuition-free 7-week training program and sit for the exam to obtain national certification. Spartanburg Community College is a proud partner in delivering the training for this program. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be an EMT and start working with either of the departments below: EMTs with EMS are responsible for responding to calls for emergencies, triaging the scene, and managing the care of the patient during transport to the Emergency Room. EMTs with Ambulance Services are responsible for providing Basic to Advanced Life Support to patients while transporting the patient from between hospital facilities.
