The Lieutenant is responsible for all the daily duties of an EMT/Paramedic in addition to the responsibilities of the Lieutenant position as listed below. The Lieutenant would report directly to the Shift Captain with oversight from the Division Manager. Compensation: The Lieutenant will be an hourly paid employee. Primary Responsibilities: Ensure the Station/Operational Hub for which you are responsible meets and maintains AISB standards. Organize, manage, & monitor station supplies (medical and office) and submit monthly needs request to your Shift Captain. Maintain inventory of station supplies in a well-organized, AISB supply room. Develop and oversee a rotating daily station duties roster to ensure all common areas are clean, free from debris, organized, and with adequate space for normal business operations. Ensure any area(s) where mechanical repairs take place are organized, free from any hazards to associates, clean and compliant with AISB standards. Work closely with Shift Captain and Division Manager to plan, organize, and implement any new policies or procedures pertaining to the upkeep of operational hubs. Assist the Shift Captain and Division Manager with the onboarding of any new locations/operational hubs in your service area. Additional Responsibilities: Daily duties for the Lieutenant may consist of but not limited to: Lieutenants must be able to work independently and demonstrate accountability to define goals and objectives to achieve desired outcomes. Individuals should have knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and procedures. It is essential for the Lieutenant to have strong negotiation skills, be creative, flexible, and innovative in adapting to changing customer, operational, and organizational needs, and requirements. Lieutenants will be expected to keep their Shift Captain informed on activities within the group such as but not limited to the progress on projects. Assists in the coordination of departmental employees for efficiency and effectiveness enhancement. Facilitates reconciliation rather than divisiveness among individuals. Obtains information and addresses questions that can facilitate movement from problem to resolution stage. Depending on location of position, work hours will vary depending on company scheduling needs. This may include approved overtime, calls, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays. Operate an emergency vehicle with due regard for other motorists while following all regulations and laws. Duties/Responsibilities: Be familiar with and conduct yourself in accordance with all statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to certification and Emergency Medical Services. Shifts focus among several efforts as required by changing priorities. Deliver written and oral communication, respond to questions and concerns, and produce specific outcomes and impact. Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution. Raises awareness of potential strategic alliances and partnerships. Collaborates with others to create satisfactory interpersonal outcomes. Monitors progress continuously and adjusts tactics for handling situations on a case-by-case basis. Individuals should maintain all credentials and have strong clinical skills. Individuals should attend training classes to maintain national certification, state licensure, trade, and education conferences, and keep abreast of new developments in the field, or maintain existing knowledge.
