We’re looking for an EMR Specialist who is passionate about healthcare technology, data integrity, and workflow optimization to help us deliver high-quality, coordinated care. Position Summary The EMR Specialist is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the eClinicalWorks (eCW) system across Wellspire Medical’s clinics. This position bridges clinical operations, administration, and IT — ensuring that our EMR system supports efficient workflows, accurate documentation, and compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who enjoys improving systems and empowering clinical users through technology. This role also has future potential to expand into people management, including the oversight of IT or EMR support staff as the organization grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5 years of experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of eClinicalWorks modules including Practice Management, Patient Portal, Healow, and Reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and training abilities across clinical and administrative teams.
  • Proficiency in data reporting, analysis, and workflow design.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare data privacy regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in multi-specialty or ambulatory care environments preferred.
  • Prior experience mentoring or supporting colleagues is a plus and may support future leadership opportunities.
  • eClinicalWorks Certified Professional or equivalent EMR certification.
  • RHIT, CPHIMS, or other health information management credential.
  • eClinicalWorks Super User certification.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain eClinicalWorks (eCW) across multiple Wellspire Medical locations.
  • Manage user accounts, security roles, and access controls in compliance with HIPAA and internal data governance.
  • Provide end-user support and serve as the primary contact for EMR troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Customize and maintain clinical templates, order sets, progress notes, and forms to meet specialtyspecific needs.
  • Collaborate with providers and staff to optimize clinical workflows and enhance documentation efficiency.
  • Coordinate with IT and eCW vendor support for upgrades, integrations, and new feature deployments.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for clinicians, nurses, and administrative staff on system use and best practices.
  • Create user guides, quick-reference tools, and SOP documentation for Wellspire Medical employees.
  • Generate and maintain reports and dashboards within eCW to support quality improvement, operations, and compliance.
  • Support regulatory and payer reporting (e.g., MIPS, UDS, PCMH) using eClinicalWorks data.
  • Stay current with healthcare IT trends, EMR enhancements, and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in training or mentoring of IT or EMR support staff, with potential to take on formal supervisory responsibilities in the future.
