About The Position

Primarily responsible for quality analysis of discharged patient records for incomplete or missing items, identifying and entering the responsible practitioner in various system applications for documentation deficiencies and linking deficiencies to the appropriate practitioner for completion. The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Documentation Analyst is responsible for accurately reviewing medical records documentation on paper and/or on-line (analysis, reanalysis, and other queues/assignments) to ensure documentation is complete and compliant with medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, DNV standards, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and other regulatory standards, policies and procedures for patient charts.  Provide phone support and department coverage. Basic knowledge of ROI continuation of care and MyChart functions).  Ability to retrieve information as needed for patient care or other clinical needs.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in a health information management setting including experience in quality control reviews/analysis of clinical documentation, with at least one (1) of the two (2) in an acute care setting preferred.
• Candidates must possess the background and/or training needed to become proficient with FirstHealth's EHR application as well as other EHR interfaced applications within the initial 90 probationary period.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field, or equivalent experience in the health information management field, including college-level medical terminology course preferred.
