About The Position

If so, join our supportive and caring team as an Employment Support Professional (ESP)! An Employment Support Professional (ESP) supports individuals with disabilities as they prepare for, obtain, and retain community employment. ESPs have a desire to create lasting positive impacts on people's lives and enjoy coaching, mentoring, training, and encouraging others to celebrate meeting their goals on their path to community employment. Responsibilities and work schedules vary depending on assignment. Most assignments require first-shift hours, but occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary to meet the needs of persons served. The use of a personal vehicle is required to provide community-based services to persons served. Location: Airport Dr./Various Work Locations Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm Hourly Wage: $18.00 an hour

Requirements

  • Must be 21+ years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience providing employment services to individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate exceptional coaching and training skills.
  • Positive attitude and professional representation of individuals and the agency.
  • Must submit to a BCII/FBI background check and Nurses Aid & Abuser Registry checks.
  • Maintain American Red Cross or equivalent first aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid State of Ohio Driver's License and insurability standards.
  • Complete eight hours of training as required by The Ohio Department of Developmental upon hire.
  • Obtain Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) credential within twelve months of hire.
  • Passing a physical exam may be required based on job assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold the rights and dignity of all persons served, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Maintain billable hours requirements.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with community business partners.
  • Assess and report health and safety hazards in work environments.
  • Participate in required meetings and staff training.
  • Provide job coaching and lead employment-related learning sessions.
  • Facilitate exploration of local employment opportunities.
  • Assist and supervise work trainees as per their service plans.
  • Provide input for service plans based on observed skills and barriers.
  • Provide transportation to base locations and worksites.
  • Offer employment-related case management and career counseling.
  • Implement services to help persons served achieve their goals.
  • Complete assessments of employable skills and abilities.
  • Support resume writing, interview preparation, and soft skills development.
  • Develop employer contacts through various outreach methods.
  • Educate employers on the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities.
  • Stay informed about the local job market and hiring needs.
