Position Overview: Job Title: Employment Specialist ( Part Time) Location: Rochester, NY Department: Community Services - Vocational Programs Reports To: Program Coordinator / Program Manager Employment Type: Part Time, Days with some evening and weekend flexibility as needed Starting Wage: $19 - $21 per hour Why You Should Work for Lifetime Assistance? Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred; OR Associate's degree + 1 year relevant experience; OR High school diploma + 2 years related vocational or human services experience.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid NYS driver's license and ability to meet agency driving requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and actively support individuals in various work environments.
- Enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine passion for helping others achieve independence through employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct job skills training and supervision in community and facility-based work settings.
- Support individuals in developing positive work habits, social skills, and independence.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers to create and sustain meaningful job opportunities.
- Assist with vocational assessments, job site setup, and development of training materials.
- Monitor and document individual progress, behaviors, and program outcomes.
- Serve as a positive role model, encouraging professional and personal growth.
- Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and reviews to support person-centered employment goals.
