About The Position

As an Employment Discovery Specialist, you provide individualized opportunities for community inclusion, enhanced independence, and relationship building in work experiences. You help individuals with disabilities develop the skills that they need to obtain and maintain employment, such as effective communication, acceptable workplace conduct, workplace problem-solving skills, and workplace safety. You enthusiastically engage with individuals while teaching hard and soft work skills and behaviors. Providing direct support, you set up and implement people-centered group employment opportunities. As an advocate, you aid those we serve while always supporting considerations as outlined in each persons' Individual Service Plan (ISP). Leveraging your strong organizational skills, you accurately document all services rendered. Additionally, you thoroughly record daily activities, attendance reports, incident reports, and documentation for Medicaid reimbursement. You provide support to individuals for them to effectively participate in day-to-day activities. This often looks like transporting people to and from work sites, providing personal care ( if the need arises), and effectively managing work sites. Safety is a top priority for you. As such, you carefully supervise employment sites to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone involved. Helping others and making a difference in their lives is what you love to do, and this is why you are perfect for this position!
