About The Position

Preti Flaherty, one of New England’s largest law firms with offices in ME, NH, MA, and Washington, D.C., is seeking an experienced attorney to join the firm’s dynamic Employment Law Practice Group. The Employment Associate can be based in either our downtown Portland, ME or Concord, NH office. This position offers engaging work advising and counseling clients and in handling litigation matters on behalf of Preti’s regional and national clients. Our Employment Law Practice Group has 50+ years of experience serving as trusted advisors to employers across New England in matters of employment law compliance and best practices, and takes pride being at the forefront of evolving industry trends and fast-paced regulatory changes. We regularly defend employers against discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, wrongful termination, misappropriation of trade secrets, restrictive covenants, and business-related disputes in state and federal courts and administrative agencies across New England. Our efforts are supported by the full strength of Preti Flaherty’s more than 80 attorneys, practicing in dozens of specialized areas. Associates in Preti’s Employment Law Practice Group enjoy a uniquely high level of client interaction, as well as involvement in all aspects and levels of case work. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree from an accredited law school
  • Active bar membership (or anticipated within 6-12 months) in NH, ME, or MA
  • 2-5 years of litigation experience, ideally within employment law
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and teamwork
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
