A day in the life of an Employee Relations Manager at VF looks a little like this. The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for employee relations services across the various VF functions mainly focused on a VF Brand/Headquarters. You will be responsible for leading ER functions as a trusted expert on matters including internal allegations, leadership coaching, claims and investigations geared towards root cause identification, sensitive and confidential matters as well as performance management, offboarding, training and development, leave management and compliance with state and federal requirements. Additionally, the Employee Relations Manager will provide supervisory responsibilities to other members of the broader Employee Relations team. Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more. Conduct timely, thorough and impartial internal investigations on all workplace allegations, including harassment, discrimination, and retaliation and other Title VII related concerns and provide recommendations on disciplinary action plans to ensure fair and consistent outcomes. Conduct legal and compliance reviews of substantiated facts and prepare all required documentation with a focus on issue resolution within assigned region/area. Prepare executive level summaries and recommendations on employee relations cases with a focus on resolving the matter with minimal risk and upholding our VF Values. Provide Leaders at all levels with strategic guidance, recommendations and support with performance management, including the implementation of coaching documents, preparing for quarterly check-in conversations, performance improvement plans, and exit strategies. Provide employees with support and guidance to address their concerns in areas including teamwork, communication, and leadership among others. Support leave management including ADA accommodations and conduct the Interactive Process to make recommendations in work accommodations Manage the reorganization and exit process including preparing planning logistics, preparing leaders, ensuring accurate documentation, conducting notification conversation with professionalism and empathy and while ensuring compliance and consistency with company policies. Maintain accurate and timely documentation regarding all cases in designated case management tools and systems. Partner with Client Group HRBP’s to align disciplinary actions involving employees, leaders, and/or teams. Additionally, partner with HRBPs to support strategic initiatives and plans within the designated line of business.
