We are seeking a skilled Employee Relations Consultant to serve as a trusted advisor on day-to-day employee relations matters. In this role, you will provide timely guidance and solutions to address workplace questions and concerns, ensuring a positive and compliant employee experience. You will collaborate closely with internal partners-including Business Leaders, Legal, Employee Care, HR Business Partners, Corporate Security, and Compliance-to proactively identify issues and minimize risk to the organization. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Employee Relations and plays a critical role in fostering a fair, respectful, and legally sound work environment.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all employee-initiated ER issues received from Employee Care for assigned business(es).
  • Investigate and resolve ER issues, to include: gathering and analyzing evidence, applying relevant laws, policies and past practice to reach conclusions and provide recommendations on next steps.
  • Interpret and apply understanding of corporate and business policy, employment law, and other regulations to provide immediate advice, guidance, or clarification for ER inquiries.
  • Provide consultation, guidance and coaching to supervisors, managers and HRBPs to address employee conduct concerns; provide guidance and assist with the development and delivery of appropriate feedback or corrective/disciplinary actions.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify proactive measures.
  • Develop and facilitate training on Employee Relations topics.
  • Review and create documentation for all involuntary and complex terminations.
  • Interpret and apply understanding of leave of absence policies and processes as they relate to ER issues and requests from managers and employees.
  • Maintain required documentation within case management systems, including intake and investigative notes, supporting documents and final reports.
  • Escalate ER issues that meet pre-defined criteria and use judgment to assess risk and sensitivity of ambiguous cases determining when to escalate to ER management.
