About The Position

Are you a seasoned HR professional who thrives on creating exceptional employee experiences and driving organizational excellence? As a Employee Relations and Compliance Specialist you will serve as the HR State Compliance liaison for Alfa and will research, analyze, and communicate all multi-state HR related compliance, tax and employment guidelines, laws, etc. Additionally, you must stay abreast of state laws & regulations changes for each state we are licensed in and communicate changes to the necessary people. This includes compliance with legal regulations related to immigration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2 years’ experience in a corporate environment, human resources, or compliance
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to proactively identify issues
  • Ability to work independently without direct daily supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Computer Skills Preferred: Excel & Peoplesoft

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze and communicate all multi-state HR related compliance, tax and employment guidelines, laws, etc.
  • Handle the unemployment process
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations related to immigration.
  • Manage extensions, renewals, transfers and permanent resident sponsorships and collaborate closely with Corporate Recruiter and both internal and external legal teams as necessary, while maintaining proper documentation and facilitating effective communication.
  • Design and conduct in-house (in-person or virtual) training programs for employees and supervisors on HR-related topics.
  • Coordinate the department’s activities regarding Enterprise Risk Management, SOX/Audit Testing
  • Complete census reporting (yearly)
  • Serve with kindness, communicate effectively & timely & be solution oriented.
