About The Position

This position is primarily located at CNRV but must be willing to travel to Tazewell, Giles, and Roanoke on occasion. HOURS: Between 7:30 am - 4:00 pm; Flex The Employee Health Nurse provides a supportive role in Employee Health Services to evaluate the health requirements and work performance status of perspective and current employees, according to established guidelines. The Employee Health Nurse Performs evaluations of employees with illnesses or injuries occurring on the job, adhering to established protocols for treatment and physician referrals. Works with advisory staff in making referrals for employee health and work status evaluations where needed. Provides preventative service and education to employees based on established. Employee Health/Infection Control policies in compliance with OSHA, CDC and Workers Compensation guidelines. Reviews departmental policies and procedures periodically to remain competent in current and recommended standards. Provides health education to prospective and current employees on an as-needed basis. Enhances professional development through participation in in-services and continuing educational programs. Completes pre-placement and annual health assessments per departmental policy. Assist ill or injured employees per departmental protocols. Functions in a supportive role to meet the fluctuating needs of Employee Health Services.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of a Professional School of Nursing, BS degree required or plan in place.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years professional nursing experience involving interviewing and health assessment skills.
  • Licensure/Certifications/Registration: State of Virginia registered nursing license required.
  • Other Minimum Qualifications: none

  • Occupational health or employee health background preferred.
