About The Position

Responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating Shelby County Government’s comprehensive employee benefits health and wellness programs, providing technical assistance to organizations and vendors. Consults with employee groups and performs related work as required.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience directly related to implementing and/or coordinating comprehensive wellness programs and program management
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in health education, health promotion, public health or a closely related field
  • PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred or comparable certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, organizes and coordinates health education programs by assisting in the development of Shelby County’s wellness program.
  • Implements and revise the County’s employee benefits health and wellness program.
  • Monitors and evaluates wellness education programs.
  • Creates health education materials and maintains reference files on current resources of health education materials.
  • Maintains interface with employee population groups, health education service agencies and vendors for various wellness initiatives.
  • Represents Shelby County on planning committees for employee benefits health association meetings, attend seminars and workshops.
  • Provides technical assistance and reporting to committees and departments.
  • Coordinates employee wellness activities and process program rewards.
  • Serve as Chair of the Employee Benefits Wellness Committee.
  • Keep abreast of best practices for health and wellness programs. Conduct surveys as applicable.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
