About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Producer to drive new business growth by identifying, developing, and closing employee benefits opportunities for employers. This role is ideal for a consultative sales professional who thrives on building long-term client relationships, delivering strategic benefits solutions, and collaborating with internal teams to create an exceptional client experience.

Requirements

  • Strong sales and prospecting skills, including lead generation, pipeline management, and closing
  • Proven consultative selling and relationship-building abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver compelling proposals and recommendations
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities
  • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits)
  • Understanding of carrier products, underwriting concepts, and plan design options
  • Working knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA)
  • Proficiency with CRM and agency management systems
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with internal teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Active Life & Health insurance license

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, develop, and close new employee benefits business across group health, ancillary, and voluntary product lines
  • Conduct consultative sales meetings to assess client needs and recommend tailored benefits solutions
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified prospects and opportunities
  • Meet or exceed established sales, revenue, and growth targets
  • Educate clients on benefits strategies, market trends, compliance considerations, and cost-containment options
  • Prepare and present proposals, renewals, and enrollment strategies aligned with client goals
  • Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process and ongoing client relationship
  • Partner closely with Account Managers and service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing support
  • Maintain accurate documentation of sales activity and client interactions in agency systems
  • Stay current on benefits regulations, carrier offerings, and industry trends
  • Participate in training, professional development, and agency sales initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to position employee benefits as part of broader employer solutions (e.g., HR, payroll, PEO)
  • Support enterprise solution opportunities in collaboration with internal sales leadership and service teams
