About The Position

Through primary care and multi-specialty medical practices, the physicians and other health care professionals of NYPMG, in collaboration with ColumbiaDoctors and Weill Cornell Physicians, provide families with high quality, patient-centered care close to home in the New York metropolitan area. Electromyography (EMG) Technician - Medical Group Brooklyn - Day NewYork-Presbyterian is known across the world for boldly advanced diagnostic care. Under the supervision of the clinical Electromyography Laboratory Management team, performs routine and complex nerve conduction studies, repetitive nerve stimulation studies, H Reflex and F Wave studies, Blink Reflex studies, and other techniques in populations of adolescents and adults. This is a full time day (Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm) position at NYP Medical Group Brooklyn located at 263 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must posses or develop knowledge of nerve conduction study abnormalities, technical and electrical artifacts and patterns associated with neuromuscular disease, and be or become familiar with the detailed operation of the computerized nerve conduction and electromyography testing systems, and have or develop the ability to troubleshoot basic technical and electrical problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a hospital or medical practice environment.
  • Two years of college education
  • Registration with the American Society of Electro neurodiagnostic Technicians or the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technician
  • Two years performing Nerve Conduction Studies
