About The Position

Partnering with SAM’s Education team, this intern will focus on a review and update to SAM’s Educator Resource Guides. Educator Resource Guides are designed for educators visiting SAM locations on a self-guided visit or for use in the classroom, before or after a field trip to the museum. Teachers are encouraged to develop open-ended discussions that ask for a wide range of opinions and expressions from students. The projects in this guide connect to core curriculum subject areas and can be adapted for a variety of grade levels to meet state and national learning standards. Related images for each project are included for classroom use. These resources also include information about scaling activities and modifying them. The intern will be responsible for reviewing the previous Educator Resource Guides and updating their contents and curriculum. This includes connecting the themes and Washington State learning standards to select objects at the museum, as well as piloting activities that will accompany each object highlighted.
